Mikhail Hallak / Biography / Opera

As a post-graduate student at Indiana University, Hallak served as opera coach and accompanist from 1996 to 1998 for over 12 productions including the third American production of John Corigliano’s “Ghosts of Versailles”.

Hallak served as Assistant Professor of Piano Accompaniment at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, performing regularly with faculty and students.
He joined the Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Young Artist Development Program in 2001, graduating in 2003.

As well as holding former faculty appointments at the Juilliard School and Yale University, Hallak has also served as music
staff /assistant conductor and coach for over forty productions at music festivals and opera companies, including Paris Opera, Seattle Opera, Palm Beach Opera, the Spoleto Festival, USA, the Santa Fe Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, the International Vocal Arts Institute in Tel Aviv and Puerto Rico, the Ashlawn-Highland Music Festival, the Juilliard School, and Opera au Château, Belgique among others.
He also assisted Maestro Evelino Pido at Paris Opera for “Lucia di Lammermoor” featuring Natalie Dessay in Andrei Serban’s acclaimed production.
